Base Sites
A base site is the location where crews, vehicles, and equipment reside when they are not on a call. The sites are configured in the Base Sites code table and display in a pick list in a number of places:
-
Setting up your current shift information on the home page
-
Creating a new chart
-
On Page 1 of your charts
Configuring base sites
You must be a service administrator to configure base sites.
Note: If you report to multiple states or your state requires you to submit a different Agency Number depending on the base site selected in your charts, you may need to configure NEMSIS export overrides for your base sites (instructions coming soon).
To add, update, or delete base sites, go to your Service Configuration > Code Tables > Base Sites.
There are several important fields that you'll want to make sure you fill out:
- Base Name: Enter the name of the base site.
- Region: The region in which the base site resides. If you click the 'Show All' button, you can see a list of regions.
- Address, City, State, Zip
- NEMSIS3 Location Type: NEMSIS v3 information is required.
Important! Failure to properly configure the NEMSIS3 Location Type can negatively impact your NEMSIS state reporting and billing submissions.
-
Time zone
- Service Name Override: Use if you want to override your service name with the name of the base site on your printed reports.
-
Geocoding: If you've purchased the Geocoding module, you'll see a '[Re-Geocode]' link. Click the link to geocode the address. In the pop-up window, enter the address or click Auto Geocode. When you have the address you want to use, click USE / SAVE THIS GEOCODE to save.
When you are done entering all your base site information, click Save.
To update an existing base site, select it from the list on the left, change the necessary information, and click Save.
To remove an existing base site, select it from the list on the left and click Delete.
