Correcting the Transport Type on a Completed Claim

  1. To get to the Claim page, enter the claim number or patient's last name in the search field and then click the claim number in the search results.

  2. On the Claim page, click the Incident details tab.

  3. Click the edit icon.

  4. Change the transport type:

    If you are changing from a "One-way" to a "Did not transport" or "Dead after dispatch", the mileage is wiped out and no further actions are needed after the changes are saved.

    If you are changing from a "did not transport" to a "one-way", you will need to enter a destination in the 'Incident details' tab and manually enter the mileage back in the "Charges" tab like this:

    1. Destination information

    2. Loaded mileage

    3. Click Save changes

    Charges tab:

    1. Click the edit icon on the left side of the Charges tab

    2. Click inside the Add a charge field and select the mileage HCPCS from the list

    3. In the "Units" field, enter the mileage amount

    4. Scroll down and click Save changes

Note: You may have to update your location based modifiers after the change.
