ZOLL emsCharts Web 14.03
March 11, 2025
ZOLL emsCharts recommends that all customers utilize the new ZOLL UI (zoll.emsCharts.com) when completing charts online. While still available, the Legacy UI is not being updated with newly developed features and functionality and does not fully support NEMSIS v3.5. It is strongly recommended that Services that export to states that have converted to NEMSIS v3.5 utilize the “Force ZOLL UI Access” configuration option, as continued use of the Legacy UI when generating NEMSIS v3.5 files may result in NEMSIS errors.
Configuration: Service > General > Force ZOLL UI access = Yes

Import of Invasive Blood Pressure
[ ZOLL UI ]
We updated the ECG import process for ZOLL X-Series monitors to support importing all Invasive Blood Pressure (IBP) and Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) values captured by the device. When an ECG case is selected for import in emsCharts, all IBP and NIBP values captured by the device will be displayed on the import screen as unique Vital Signs entries, even if those values were recorded by the monitor at the same time. This change ensures that all IBP and NIBP values can be selected by the user for import, and that IBP values will no longer be absent from the import screen when they were recorded at the same time as a NIBP value.
Home Page News items
[ ZOLL UI ]
We updated the Home Page News Code Table for all Service types to support the use of Markdown language when creating Home Page News items, and added formatting tools to the message area to ensure users can format Home Page News items as they are created. The use of custom HTML is no longer supported when editing existing or creating new Home Page News items. Additionally, we fixed an issue that was causing the "More" and "Less" links on the Home Page from working as expected.

NEMSIS 3.5 updates
[ ZOLL UI ]
-
The latest versions of the dataset, schematron, and approved facilities released by the State of Alabama have been updated in the system.
-
The latest versions of the dataset, schematron, and approved facilities released by the State of Kansas have been updated in the system.
-
The latest versions of the dataset and schematron released by the State of Minnesota have been updated in the system.
The following issues were fixed for release 14.03:
-
[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ] Some users who attempted to access emsCharts using a ZOLL Online account that does not exist in emsCharts were unable to log out of that account and log in using a valid emsCharts account. Now, if a user attempts to access emsCharts using an unlinked ZOLL Online account, they are presented with a page notifying them that the account they used is not affiliated with any Services in emsCharts. This page will provide a "Logout" button that will allow users to end the emsCharts session and log in with a valid account.
-
[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ] Some Command and Region level users were unable to access emsCharts after attempting to open a PCR that was created by a Service under their Command or Region if they were not listed on the roster of the Service the PCR was created under. This change ensures that if a user is not on the roster of a Service that created the PCR but is a member of a Command or Region that has access to the PCR that is at or above a QA level designated by the Service for the Command or Region to access it, the user is automatically switched to the appropriate agency to access the PCR.
-
[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ] The Date/Time for some Procedures was not included/displayed in Custom Reports as expected. The fix includes a new Report Column for Custom Reports called "Procedures OR Vitals" and should be used when editing existing or creating new Custom Reports that are intended to include the Date/Time of Procedures in the output.
-
[ ZOLL UI ] Users were unable to manage Patient Subscriptions from Patient Management when utilizing the ZOLL UI. This fix ensures that users can add new or modify existing Patient Subscriptions from Patient Management without the need to switch to the Legacy UI.
-
[ ZOLL UI ] 'None Reported' was being reported for eInjury.03 (Trauma Triage-High Risk) and eInjury.04 (Trauma Triage-Moderate Risk) for the State of Georgia NEMSIS exports, but they do not accept Pertinent Negative values. We updated the NEMSIS logic for files generated for GA so that when 'None Reported' is selected for eInjury.03 and eInjury.04, the NEMSIS code for 'Not Applicable' will be reported. Extracts for all other datasets will continue to utilize the NEMSIS code for 'None Reported'.
