Details:

As part of the NEMSIS 3.5 transition, ZOLL emsCharts will begin generating 3.5 extract for trips in the state of Massachusetts. This will be deployed with the WEB 12.09 release on September 12, 2023.

Best Practices:

Best practice includes reviewing the Massachusetts dataset and schematron on the NEMSIS website for further detail and a full list of rules and elements. Please also ensure you have an updated demographic file, as some states will require this. Please use the new ZOLL UI as you transition to v3.5.

Configuration Changes:

The following will be configured for the agency:

• The 3.5 exam body will be turned on and set to yes.

• The 3.5 Dispositions will be turned on and set to yes.

• Level of Care Provided per Protocol field will be visible on Page 2.

Note: You can revert any configuration changes made to your system by ZOLL in preparation of NEMSIS 3.5 if they do not apply to your Service.

Release Details:

• No elements with new custom values.

• Six national custom elements:

  • eHistory.901 - Recent Travel

  • eHistory.902 - Travel Location

  • eHistory.903 - Recent Exposure to Infectious Disease

  • eHistory.904 - Recent International Travel

  • eHistory.905 - Recent State Travel

  • eHistory.906 - Recent City Travel

• One state custom element:

  • itVitals.055 - Stroke Scale Score Value (integer/number)

• Massachusetts Validation Rule Messages (Warning, Error, Fatal)
