A new single-select field, 'Alt. Home Residence', was added to allow for additional documentation when a patient does not have a home ZIP/postal code. The acceptable values for this field are:

  • Foreign Visitor

  • Homeless

  • Migrant Worker

  • Not Applicable

  • Not Recorded (this option is not available for selection but will be extracted for NEMSIS 3.5 if nothing is selected)

 

A new pertinent negative value of 'Unable to Complete' has been added to two address fields. Since this is the only Not Value for these fields, it is displayed next to each field as a new checkbox labeled "Unable to Complete".

  • ePatient.05 - Street Address and Apt, Suite, Unit, Building (Optional)

  • ePatient.06 - City/State/ZIP (Optional)

    • The checkbox only displays for this field when using the ENTER MANUALLY option.

Note: Using the checkbox for either field will remove any values already entered in the fields and will disable the fields from allowing entries until the box is unchecked.

Configuration: To enable the checkboxes, set the Configuration > Service > Chart > Use Pertinent Negatives setting to 'Yes'.

In the Employer button pop-up window, the patient's 'Occupation' field pick list value of 'Education, Training, and Library Occupations', has been changed to 'Educational Instruction and Library Occupations'.

The selection list for Race has been standardized and is now as follows:

  • American Indian / Alaska Native

  • Asian

  • Black or African American

  • Hispanic or Latino

  • Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander

  • Not Applicable

  • White

 

Optional

The Immunizations list now includes a '- Not Immunized' option for each immunization in the list, except the 'Other' option. Additionally, a new 'None' option was added (which also does not have a '- Not Immunized' option).
