Adding a Transaction Note
A user with payment posting permissions, can now add a note to a transaction in the "Finish later" or review window.

TIP!
Don't get confused between this new feature and the existing "Add Claim Note" capability shown on the Payment Posting page.
There is a big difference. The "Add Claim Note" option you see on the Payment Posting page, immediately adds a claim note to the claim for that line item.
A transaction note, found when you click "Finish later", will add a note to the transaction and all the claims associated with that transaction after the transaction is successfully posted.
There are a couple of things to note about this feature:
-
You cannot add a note to a posted transaction.
-
Transaction notes on all associated claims will be deleted if a transaction is reversed.
-
After posting the transaction, a note cannot be edited but can be removed. If it is removed, it is removed from all claims associated with the transaction. Deleting a transaction note will result in an audit entry.
-
This functionality will not post a note to an ignored claim.
-
Editing a transaction note on a claim will not change the transaction note on the transaction or the other associated claims.
-
Users with payment posting permission can edit a payment posting note made by another user on a transaction before it is posted.
-
A user with payment posting permission, but not note permission, can edit or delete a payment posting note on a claim but can not edit or delete a non-payment posting note on the same claim.
